Srinagar: Suspected militants shot dead a person in Bahrampora village of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday night, police said.
Nazir Ahmad Mir, 32, was shot at by suspected militants near his residence at Bahrampora in Dangiwacha area of the district, a police official said.
Mir, they said, was shifted to Sopore hospital where from he was referred to SMHS hospital in Srinagar.
However, he was declared dead on arrival at the SMHS hospital. Mir, according to hospital sources, had suffered a head injury.
A case has been registered and a hunt is on to nab the assailants, police said.
