Man gets jail term in assault leading to death case

POONCH: Districts Traffic Mobile Magistrate Manzoor Ahmed Khan sentenced to two-years and six months jail to one Sajad Hussain Shah son of Sarfraz Hussain Shah resident of Potha Surankot for assaulting one Makhan Din son of Hasham Ali resident of village Seri Chowhana after an accident in 2008. Makhan Din succumbed to injuries after eight days of assault.
A case was registered against culprit in police station Mandi wide FIR No. 35/2008 under section 279/304 of RPC . The case against the accused was under process in the court of DTMM Poonch where CPO Shaien Ahmed Khan represented the prosecution while Advocate Shokat Manhas represented Sajad.
The Magistrate after hearing both sides sent the accused to jail for six months under Setion 279 and two years under Section 304A while imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 under MVA158 and Rs 100. Manzoor Ahmed Khan ordered if the accused fails to pay fine he will undergo further nine weeks jail term.
