KATHUA: Police on Thursday arrested a man for illicit distillation and recovered 5 litres of Illicit liqour and 20 litres of Lahan from his possession. As per the details, on a specific information, a police party of Nagari post headed by SI Ashwani Kumar In-Charge Police Post conducted the raid at Mirpur Jaggo and held one person with 5 litres of Illicit liqour and 20 litres of Lahan.
The accused was identified as Mangal Singh alias Munna son of Kartar Chand Perna resident of Mirpur Jaggo Nagri. Police during the raid seized 5 litres of Illicit liqour , destroyed around 20 litres of Desi Lahan and also seized instruments and apparatus being used by the accused for manufacturing the liqour. A case vide FIR No. 420/16 under Section 48(E) Excise Act was registered at Police Station Kathua against him.
