Mamata doesn’t stand chance against Modi: BJP
Kolkata:-Senior BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya today termed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s protest against demonetisation as a “desperate attempt to project herself as the prime minister-in-waiting” and said her party does not stand a chance against Narendra Modi.
“Banerjee is in a hurry to be the prime minister-in- waiting. Had she been not so desperate she would not have made those wild assertions of army coup and flight theory. She is not bothered about what she is saying and its implications,” he told PTI.
Trinamool was crying foul over the note ban because people who run fake currency racket in West Bengal are linked to it, the BJP’s national general secretary alleged.
He said Banerjee and her party “don’t stand a chance to position themselves as an alternative to Modi”.
“Modiji’s stature, integrity, dedication for the nation and honesty is so high… We do not even treat Banerjee and her party as an opposition at the national stage,” he said.
The BJP leader said 95 per cent people in the country were supporting demonetisation, while the corrupt five per cent were against it.
“The Prime Minister decision to scrap Rs 500 and 1000 currency notes has stopped a number of illegal activities across the country. 95 per cent people are happy with it. Only a small number of people who have a lot of black money are opposing it,” he said.
