JAMMU: Government MAM College in men section and the combined side of Post Graduate Departments of University of Jammu in women category emerged winners in the inter-college handball tournament, organised by the Department of Sports and Physical Education on the campus, here on Monday.
In men’s section, MAM College trounced equally good GGM Science College 20-14 in the final. Earlier, in the semifinals, played today, MAM College defeated Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua while Science College outplayed GDC Paloura.
Similarly, in women’s final, the PG Departments registered a 12-06 victory over Government College for Women (GCW) Parade.
In the finals and prize distribution function, Controller of Examination and senior faculty of Department of Management, Prof Keshav Sharma was Chief Guest, who gave away the winners trophies. He was accompanied by the Director Sports and Physical Education, Prof Dhian Singh Bhau.
Also present were Dr Vinod Bakshi, Sumnesh Sharma, Nariyani Jammu, Balbir Singh Chib, Goutam Sharma, Vikesh Sharma, Raj Kumar, Ravish Vaid, Gagan Kumar, P.D Singh and Jai Bharat.
Matches were officiated by the technical penal comprising Gourav Sharma, Jyoti Sharma, Taqdir Singh Charak and Vikas Karlopia.
