JAMMU: Malik Sports Academy bagged the overall trophy in the 22nd District Budgam Taekwondo Championship held under the banner of District Budgam Taekwondo Association at Sports Stadium, Budgam.
Overall second place went to Power Punch Martial Art Academy while Alamdar Sports Club remained third on the basis of medals won in different weight and age categories.
As per the details reaching here, around 180 participants contested for the top honours representing 10 different sports clubs of the district.
This championship held under the supervision of Syed Ashaq Hussain, who happens to be joint secretary of the J&K Taekwondo Association (JKTA).
In the prize distribution function, Manager Sports Stadium Budgam, Mohammed Altaf was the Chief Guest, who along with other guests presented medals and certificates. Vice President of the JKTA, Nissar Hussain was the Guest of Honour. The technical panel comprised Farooq Ahmed and Manzoor Ahmed as also Shenaz.
Meanwhile, the district association has selected the Budgam team for the upcoming J&K level Taekwondo Championship to be held in Jammu.
