Make upgraded hospitals in Budgam fully functional: Hanjura

SRINAGAR: Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura has called for making the upgraded health institutions of district Budgam fully functional. He also called for adequate stocking of drugs and providing requisite equipment in these institutions.
This was stated by the minister at a meeting convened here today to review the healthcare facilities in Budgam.
The meeting took a holistic review of the stock position of drugs, staff-strength and other facilities being provided to the patients in existing District, Sub-District Hospitals, Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centers, First Aid Medical Centres and other health institutions of the district.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Budgam, Block Medical Officers of the district and other officers of health department were present in the meeting.
The Minister directed the CMO Budgam to come up with a concrete proposal regarding the issues including requirement of ambulances, equipment and other facilities required for smooth functioning of health institutions of the district so that the matter could be taken up with the concerned quarters for release of funds.
Detailed discussion was also held on construction of ongoing hospital buildings. It was given out that the construction work of PHC Sholipora and PHC Parispora is nearing completion. He took serious note of inordinate delay in completion of hospital buildings and directed the executing agencies to redouble their efforts and ensure completion of all such buildings in a stipulated timeframe
