Make it legitimate

Bribe has been taken, technical parameters changed putting security at risk by none-else than an former Air Chief who was in office at that time, politicians of all colour and creed are involved and so much has been written and spoken in Parliament. Opposition Congress members with their backs to the wall over the murky Augusta chopper deal have gone full gun blazing in Rajya Sabha, furious that government had launched a smear campaign against the Gandhis. There is nothing surprising; Congress has been ruling the country when these mega defence contract like Bofors, HDW submarine with Germany, Westland helicopters took place and now it has become open that big money has exchanged hands among people who matter. No action has been initiated except some cases registered by CBI and Enforcement Directorate. The political fight has not stopped both BJP and Congress are fighting to establish the onus of who did it in the end. Politically there is no deal that takes place without money being exchanged at various levels. The loud noises created during the Assembly elections has kept the nation busy with clean image of BJP and its leaders. The present ruling party too is not that clean to claim the highest pedestal. The fact is that corruption and politics are the two inseparables of the present day system. The worst casualty of the political squabble is the defence forces who are pushed back in the modernisation drive . Since March 2013 the case has not gone a step forward and now to trace the money trail Enforcement Directorate officials would be going on a seven nation tour as most of the countries involved except Italy have not ceded the ED’s judicial requests sent by it in 2014. Why does not government bring in legislation to make corruption legitimate rather than spend crores in investigating how it took place? Government can have a share of such deals for the developmental projects. Make bribe legitimate.
