Major bovine smuggling attempts foiled, 43 bovines rescued, 5 smugglers arrested

Samba/REASI: Continuing its drive against bovine smugglers and their propagators, Samba Police has foiled two major bovine smuggling attempts during the intervening night of April 03/04. 2024 in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bari Brahmana& Police Station Samba, arrested two bovine smugglers and rescued thirty six bovines.
A police party of Police Station Bari Brahmana headed by SHO PS Bari Brahmana during vehicle checking at Naka Balole Bridge Bari Brahmana, intercepted a truck bearing registration No. UP12T-6057 coming from Jammu side for its checking. During checking of said vehicle, twenty two bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission.
The bovine smuggler identified as Mustkim, son of Abdul Wahid, resident of Mahank Mau district Saharanpur (UP) has been arrested.
A case FIR No.45/2024 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana and investigation started.
Likewise, a police party of Police Post Goran headed by Incharge PP Goran has successfully foiled another major bovine smuggling attempt, arrested bovine smuggler and rescued fourteen bovines which were being smuggled by foot via DhakiKhad area.
The arrested bovine smuggler has been identified as Altaf Hussian, son of Haji Yousaf, resident of Surara district Samba. A case FIR No.88/2024 U/S 188 IPC has been registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started.
Continuing special drive against the bovine smuggler under Operation Dhenu teams of District Police Reasi laid special nakas, arrested 03 bovine smugglers while rescuing 07 bovines being illegally transported by them, and seized 02 vehicles used for transporting the animals.
Team of Police check Post Balini, during checking, intercepted a Tata mobile bearing registration No. JK14E-0359 transporting the animals without permission and rescued 03 bovines from the possession of Bovine smuggler namely Shokat Ali, son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Simbal Chowa Tehsil & District Reasi.
In this regards a case FIR No. 95/2024 U/S 188 IPC has been registered at Police Station Katra and investigation initiated. Vehicle Tata mobile got seized and both the accused got arrested in the instant case.
In another incident Team of Police Check Post Balini, during naka checking foiled bovines smuggling attempt, intercepted a one Tata Mobile bearing registration No. JK20C 1172 and rescued 04 bovines from the possession of Bovine smuggler namely Mohd Saleem, son of Bashir Ahmed, resident of Karua Kotli Tehsil Katra & District Reasi and co-driver namely Abdul Gani, son of Mohd Hussain, resident of Karua Tehsil Katra and District Reasi.
In this regards case FIR No. 96/2024 under sections 188 IPC stands registered at Police Station Katra and investigations initiated.
