Maintain hygienic conditions: JMC

JAMMU: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) team on Saturday visited Talab Khatikan to finalise the arrangements in view of coming Holy Ramzan month and asked the meat sellers to maintain hygienic conditions of the meat.
On the directions of Commissioner JMC, Soujanya Sharma, the Municipal Veterinary Officer I/c Zone Officer II (Sanitation Wing) Dr. Zaffar Iqbal alongwith CTO, AEE Mech, Sanitation Officer and other field staff of JMC visited Jama Masjid and adjoining areas and met the various social organisations as well as senior citizens of Talab Khatikan area.
The demands put forth by the people of the area include iron gratings, street lights, desilting of drains etc. The concerned officers have been informed to redress all these grievances within shortest period before the commencing of Holy Ramzan Month.
The meat sellers have also been directed not to keep meat in the open to maintain the hygienic conditions of the commodity. The chicken sellers were also directed to maintain proper hygienic conditions and provide good quality of chicken meat. The shopkeepers in general have been directed to keep dustbins in their premises and not to throw waste in the lanes and drains.
