Myrah, Saiyam crowned champions in two categories

JAMMU: Maanay Mansotra defeated Ritvik Gupta by 3-2 in the finals of the Men’s Singles, whereas Arya Giri emerged winner in Women’s final defeating Mishti Agarwal by three games to one in the 47th Jammu District Table Tennis Championship 2024 organized by the Jammu District Table Tennis Association in collaboration with the J&K Table Tennis Association and the J&K Sports Council under their initiative “My Youth My Pride” at the Indoor Sports Complex, MA Stadium, here.
The Men’s final was a close contest with both the players giving all they had but Ritvik closing on the final in style to take the match and championship by 3-2. Earlier in the Men’s Semi Finals Samarth tried to give a resistance to Maanay but went down by 0-3. In the other semi finals Ritvik defeated Samardev by 3-0.
The Chief Guest on the occasion was Rajeev Sharma, Member Sports Council and President Tennikoit Federation of India, who witnessed the final match and distributed the prizes amongst the winners.
The Chief Guest also congratulated the organisers for a successful tournament and hailed the sportsman spirit and the efforts put in by the participants.
He also motivated the emerging champions to give their best in the national level events also.
The Guest of Honour on the occasion was Baljinder Pal Singh, Divisional Sports officer.

BOYS Hops U-11: Saiyam Nischal, 1st and Aarav Gandotra, 2nd. Cadet U-13: Saiyam, 1st and Samardev Bansal, 2nd. Sub Jr U-15: Ritvik Gupta, 1st and Saiyam Nischal, 2nd. Junior U-17: Ritvik Gupta, 1st and Hunny, 2nd.
MEN: Maanay Mansotra, 1st and Ritvik Gupta, 2nd.
WOMEN: Arya Giri, 1st and Mishti Aggarwal, 2nd .
Veteran Men: Amit, 1st and Maheh, 2nd.
Prominent among others present were Baljinder Pal Singh, Divisional Sports Officer, Satbir Singh, Ajya Sharma, Suraj Bhan, Manager Indoor Sports Complex, I.P Singh, Maninder Singh, Rajan Sharma, Meenu Rajesh, Vasu Dewan, Narinder Singh.
