‘Maa Muje Tagore Bana De’ staged at JKPS Kunjwani

JAMMU: Lucky Gupta the Jammu based actor staged the play ‘Maa Mujhe Tagore Bana De’ at JK Public School, Kunjwani on Tuesday.
The maverick actor has already held shows of the same play in more than 500 cities and towns touring 24 states, inculcating the value and importance of education in one’s life, especially children.
The play is based on a Punjabi Story written by ‘Mohan Bhandari’. The story is about a stage of dedication, determination and resolution of a son of poor brick kiln labourer, who despite abject poverty and setbacks in childhood, hopes to be like Tagore in life. The play was held in open where he performed all the roles himself moving among the children, leaving a great impact on students’ hearts and mind. His speech, movements and mannerism with minimum props left the faculty and students with an intimate experience of the life of protagonist of the play ‘Buddhu Ram’.
He also made the studentS realise that they are lucky enough to have all the facilities and opportunities in life. They have all the source to excel and to become Tagore in their respective fields. So, they should thank God, their parents and teachers for gifting them a comfortable life. He concluded the play with inspiring words for the teachers saying that they are not Tagores themselves but they have the ability to gift Tagores to the society.
The Principal JK Public School Kunjwani, S.K Singh thanked Pankaj Gupta for acquainting all with the experience of theatre. He also exhorted the teachers to have all the skills which an actor possesses to be impactful in their classes so that the learning retains for a long period of time.
