LS Polls: Seven more file papers for Srinagar

SRINAGAR: On the last day of filing of nominations today, seven more candidates have filed their papers for Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency bye polls.
The candidates include Chetan Sharma of Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha, Bikram Singh of J and K Liberal Democratic Party, Farooq Ahmad Dar (Independent), Mirza Sajad Hussain Beigh of Rashtriya Jan Kranti Party, Mehraj Khourshid Malik (Independent), Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din (Independent), and Reyaz Ahmad (Independent).
The candidates filed their nominations before the Returning Officer for Srinagar Parliamentary  Constituency.
A total of 11 candidates including five Independents are filed nomination for the Parliamentary seat.
The scrutiny of the papers would be held on 22nd and 24th March is the last day for withdrawal of nomination papers.
Meanwhile, Election Commission of India (ECI) has appointed observers for smooth conduct of Srinagar Parliamentary bye polls. In case of any grievances with regard to conduct of the bye-elections to the constituency political parties, nominated candidates, electorates and general public are informed to contact the following observers:
Kamlesh Kumar Pant (General observer) for Kangan, Ganderbal, Hazratbal and Zadibal Assembly Segments (9622738621, 0194-2502826), Anil Raj Kumar (General observer) for Edigah, Khanyar, Habba Kadal, Amira Kadal, Sonawar and Batamaloo Assembly Segments (9622738289), Rajesh Bahuguna (General observer) for Chadoora, Budgam, Beerwah, Khansahib and Chrari Sharief Assembly Segments (9622738696). Similarly, Anant Takwale has been appointed as Police observer and Kumar Animesh as Expenditure observer for Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency, who can contacted on 9622738646 and 9622738628 respectively.
