New Delhi: Subsidised cooking gas (LPG) price was on Tuesday hiked by over Rs 2 per cylinder in line with the government decision to raise rates every month to eliminate all subsidies by fiscal end.
A subsidised 14.2-kg of cylinder now costs Rs 479.77 in Delhi as against Rs 477.46 previously, according to Indian Oil Corp, the nation’s largest fuel retailer.
Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had on Monday told Lok Sabha that the government has asked state-run oil companies to raise subsidised cooking gas (LPG) prices by Rs 4 per cylinder every month to eliminate all the subsidies by March next year.
