LOP Sunil Sharma calls on LG

SRINAGAR: The Leader of Opposition in J&K Legislative Assembly, Sunil Sharma, on Wednesday called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and discussed several important issues affecting the people of Jammu Kashmir in the wake of recent natural calamities.

He apprised the Lieutenant Governor on important matters related to road connectivity, delivery of essential and health services across the Union Territory, particularly in areas cut off due to landslides and floods. He further put forth the issues of restoration of power and water supply in flood-hit and hilly regions, and increase in the financial support for affected families. Sunil Sharma also requested for the postponement of competitive examinations, including the JKPSC Lecturer recruitment and Munsiff examinations.
The Lieutenant Governor assured that the issues raised during the interaction will be taken up on priority for timely resolution.
Meanwhile, a delegation of Nigeen Lake Conservation Organization (NLCO) led by its Chairman Manzoor Wangnoo also called on Lieutenant Governor.
