JAMMU: MIER College of Education students celebrated Lohri with great joy and fun. These students come from 12 different states and bring with them their unique traditions and rituals. To many it was their first time to celebrate Lohri, the way it’s celebrated in Jammu.
Students gathered around the bonfire and participated in the Lohri rituals, which was then followed by a cultural bonanza. They wished and prayed that Lohri would mark the end of the cold weather conditions.
Convener Hostel Committee Suman Gupta and Warden Poonam Attri were also present on the occasion.
Dewan Devi Higher Secondary School, Rajpura celebrated Makar Sankranti today in the premises of the school. ‘Kichari’ was served to all the students by the Chairman of the School, Subash Chander Suri.
