JAMMU: Locals staged protest outside the office of Deputy Commissioner Jammu against the land mafia illegally grabbing land in village Kangrail village.
Protesters raised slogans against the concerned officials for not taking action against a “land mafia”.
“Gian Chand alias Gianu, son of Rohlu Ram, resident of Dayaran, Jammu, who is the sole owner of the land measuring 5 Kanal 4 Marlas falling under Khasra No. 869 and 176 (New) situated at Dayaran (Kangrail), Jammu is duly mutated in his name under Sec.4 and 8 of the Revenue Act,” said Mahinder Dass, son of Gian Chand.
“The said land under this Section cannot be further sold to any third party but the land mafia comprising Karan Malhotra, Rajni Malhotra and Baldev Raj are hand in glove with the Police Department and Revenue Authorities and have illegally got the said land registered in the name of Karan Malhotra, son of Rajni Malhotra and further mutated in their names which is totally against the law and rules of the Revenue Department,” he mentioned.
The main kingpin in the whole episode is Baldev Raj who happens to be the maternal grandson of Gianu has illegally sold the said land, he said adding that the said land mafia has taken into confidence the Police Department as well as Revenue Department is conniving to take physical possession on spot of the said land.
“About 20 police officials including women police personals are putting up on spot since last two days and denying the original owners of the said land,” protesters said.
The matter was under litigation and the Court granted stay in the said land but the said nexus is totally rubbishing the original owners of the land and it is apprehended that these land mafia can eliminate Gianu, his wife and his son Mahinder Dass, they said.
They appealed to higher-authorities to look into the matter and initiate appropriate steps to do the justice in this regard.
