RAJOURI: A team of Legal Metrology Department (LMD) Rajouri under the supervision of Assistant Controller Legal Metrology Rajouri conducted extensive market checking at Sundrbani and Siot area. During checking the department booked erring traders for violation of various provisions of J and K standard of Weights and Measures Enf. (Amendment) Act 2011 and realised a fine of Rs 25,000 from them on the spot.
REASI: A team of Legal Metrology Department under the supervision of Assistant Controller Rajesh Heera conducted extensive checking of various business establishment especially Provisional Stores, Mutton and Chicken Shops, Karyana Stores, dry fruit shops, ration depots, petrol pumps, Sweet Shops and Veg/fruit sellers in Reasi, Katra, Pouni and Bhambla.
During the inspection the inspector Legal Metrology Reasi booked 13 traders for violation of various provisions of J and K Weights and Measures Act and Packages Commodities Rules.
On pleading guilty, the cases were compounded on spot for Rs. 27,800 by the Assistant Controller Legal Metrology Reasi with the assurance that the offences will not be repeated in future, failing which their cases will be sent to the court of law for stringent action.
KATHUA: The Legal Metrology Department charged Rs 19,900 fine from erring traders during market checking.
A team headed by the Assistant Controller Legal Metrology Ajay Kumar Verma conducted intensive checking of General Stores, Hardware Stores, Sweet Shops, Flour Mills, Karayana shops, Fruit/Vegetable sellers, Provision Stores, Mustard Oil Dealers in Kathua market, Nagri Adda, Logate Morh and adjoining areas.
During inspection more than 30 traders from various sectors were inspected and six of them were compounded and a penalty of Rs 19900 was charged from them for violation of different provision of J and K Weights and Measures Enforcement (amendment) Act 2011 and Package Commodities Rules.
