JAMMU: Legal Metrology Department on Saturday booked fourteen business establishments for violating the provisions of J&K Weights and Measures Act.
A team of department under the supervision of Deputy Controller Consumer Protection, V.S Sambyal conducted checking in several areas of Shivaji Chowk, Gandhi Nagar, Gangyal, Channi Narwal and adjoining locations in view of Ramadan and Shri Amaranthji yatra.
During inspection, team booked 14 defaulters and compounded a fine of Rs.23,000.
The department issued showcause notice to the management of Grand Bakery for sale of different packs of eatables without proper labelling.
