Little Flower wins U-14 cricket title

AKHNOOR: Little Flower High School clinched the under-14 boys cricket tournament after they outplayed Pacca Danga Warriors comfortably by 73 runs in the title clash at Government Higher Secondary School Ground, here on Wednesday.
Earlier, batting first, Little Flower School set a target of 162 runs losing two wickets in 20 overs. Stiphen remained top scorer with 40-ball 70 runs while Shivansh contributed unbeaten 50 off just 38 deliveries. Nitish added 12 runs to the total. For Pacca Danga Warriors, Aniket and Paamil shared the wickets.
Later, chasing the target of over eight-run per over, Pacca Danga was bundled out for just 88 runs in 12.2 overs. Monu (24), Shubham (18) and Mannu (14) were the batsmen to score in double figure. Nanit, Nitish and Yuvraj shared two wickets each while Stiphen took one for Little Flower.
Stiphen was named Man of the Match in the final. Today’s title clash was officiated by Deepak Mangotra and Vinod Mangotra as Umpires while Ashwani Mangotra was Scorer.
Convener, Akhnoor Tehsil Cricket Committee, Joginder Mangotra was Chief Guest, who gave away the prizes.
Others present were Sham Singh Langeh, Babu Ram, Vinod Kumar, Kewal Krishan , Sanjay Kumar, Abitash, Vikas Bali and Pankaj.
