A towering man of ideas and ideals, Dr. Mookerjee laid the foundation of the industrial development of the country by setting up the three most significant Industrial undertakings and formulated policies which prepared the ground for future.

In order to make the country self-sufficient in essential goods including defence, Dr. Mookerjee encouraged private investment, supported private enterprises with suitable administrative regulations for speedy industrialization. He was undoubtedly one of the greatest scholars and statesmen of the country.
