Chaired 4th J&K UT Wildlife Board meeting earlier today. Lauded the efforts to conserve & protect precious wildlife of UT, called for proper utilization of natural resources, promotion of trekking routes & strategy for effective & efficient mitigation of human-wildlife conflict.
With the declaration of Shallabugh and Hygam as Ramsar Sites, J&K UT ranks 4th in the country in terms of largest network of wetlands. Our efforts must focus on strengthening ecological integrity, conservation of priceless resources through people’s participation.
