Let women decide
Dear Editor,
The follies and foibles of self-styled leaders have been exposed. Such leaders reflect communal thinking and want to tutor women that they should bear more children. They seem to be insensitive to the problem of overpopulation, which affects economic growth. Such statements seem ludicrous without considering the rate of maternal and infant mortality. If such leaders undergo the pain women have to go during birth, they will never give such advice. Women in India have to experience various social and economic compulsions before giving birth to a child. So they must be allowed to make a choice and not guided by any communal
credos.
