JAMMU: “Technology is a good servant but a bad master. Avail its services wisely so it adds comfort to your life, not miseries”. This opening statement from Anushika Talwaria, Grade XI F, made her initiate the morning assembly at JK Public School, Kunjwani.

Adding more weightage to the reflection, Harleen pitched in by saying, “In an age where screens dominate our attention, it is crucial to reflect on how we interact with the digital world. Mindful use of technology is about being conscious of our interaction with digital devices”.
“In today’s digital era, technology is omnipresent. While it offers numerous benefits, excessive usage can lead to mental and physical harm. It’s crucial to adopt mindful use of technology. Set boundaries, prioritize face-t-face interactions, and cultivate empathy. Recognize the impact on your mental health, relationships, and productivity”, she added.
The line of argument was further reinforced by Vaani, when she reflected, “Let’s harness technology’s power responsibly and maintain a healthy balance. Our well-being depends on it. By being mindful, we can reap the benefits while avoiding the pitfalls. Let’s use technology to uplift, not undermine, our humanity. Together, we can create a healthier relationship with technology and cultivate a more compassionate, present and mindful world”.
Principal JKPS Kunjwani, Rajesh Rathore appreciated all the presenters for making meaningful reflections on the topic. He reflected, “Let technology be a tool, not a trap for our youngsters. When we use technology as a TOOL, we control it to serve our goals, solve problems, and improve lives. This perspective allows us to harness its benefits while setting healthy boundaries to prevent over-reliance or unintended consequences. On the other hand, technology becomes a TRAP when we use it passively or compulsively, letting it dictate our actions and absorb our attention”.
“To ensure it remains a tool and not a trap, we should foster digital literacy, practice mindful usage, and design systems that prioritize human well-being. By doing so, we can make technology work for us rather than becoming ensnared by it”, he concluded.
