Leh accords rousing reception to Shia Supreme leader’s representative Mehdi Mehdavipur

LEH: A rousing reception was hosted by political and religious leaders of Leh at KBR Airport, Leh, as Mehdi Mehdavipur, representative of Waliye Faqhi, Iran arrived on Tuesday morning for a two-day visit to Leh.
Later, Youm-e- Mustazafin, Birth Anniversary of Imam Mehdi (A.J.T.F) was celebrated at Imam Bargha Chushot under the chairmanship of Mehdi Mehdavipur and with the presence of religious and political dignitaries from Leh as well as Kargil.
Chairman Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali was Guest of Honour on the occasion. It was being organised by Majlis-e-Ulma Leh.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Representative of Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei (the supreme leader of IRI), Mehdi Mehdavipur applauded exemplary communal harmony of Ladakh region.
President Anjuman Immamia, Asraf Ali Barcha briefed about the importance of the occasion being celebrated. He asked devotees to practice the teachings of Islam and follow truth.
Chairman Legislative Council Haji Anayat Ali, President Anjuman-Mon-Ul Islam, Leh, Dr Abdul Qayum, President IKMT Kargil Hujjatul Islam Sheikh Sadiq Rajai and representative Islamia School Kargil also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier, while welcoming the chief representative of Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei to Ladakh, President Ladakh Buddhist Association Leh, Tsewang Thinlas, on behalf of the Buddhist Community extended an invitation to Mehdi Mehdavipur for a lunch by LBA. He hoped that visits of such spiritual leaders will further strengthen the centuries old communal harmony in Ladakh region.
Among others who were present on the occasion include President Ladakh Gonpa Association, Gelong Shetup Chamba, Minister for Ladakh Affairs, Chering Dorjay, MP Ladakh Thupstan Chhewang, MLA Leh Rigzin Jora, MLA Nubra Deldan Namgyal, Executive Councillors, LAHDC, Leh and Councillors and officers besides hundreds of devotees.
