POONCH: Army conducted a lecture on ‘Importance of Right to Vote for the Nation’ at Youth Centre, Surankote in Poonch District on Friday where students and locals of Tehsil Surankote and nearby villages, were educated about importance of right to vote in a democratic society. A large number of students, locals and youth participated in the event.
The event was to make people understand the nuances of voting and its importance in democracy. Locals, especially youth were briefed about the fundamental right bestowed upon them with special emphasis on right to vote. They were also given brief on functioning of election commission and how the elections are conducted in the country. People overwhelmingly participated during the course of lecture and during ‘question and answer session a number of queries were raised and answered satisfactory.
