Lawyers Annual Sports Meet 2016 Legal Stars to face Paradise XI in cricket final; Team A lifts Football Trophy

JAMMU: Legal Stars to face Paradise XI in the final of Cricket Tournament being organised by J and K High Court Bar Association, here.
Earlier in the first semifinal, guided with the brilliant 123 runs off 50 balls inning Legal Star XI defeated Legal Riders with huge margin of 150 runs.
Batting first after winning the toss, Legal Star set a challengeable target of 213 runs in 15 overs game. Pranav played power-packed shots and made first and fastest century in the tournament with 123 runs off 50 balls. Gourav Jamwal remained unbeaten on 28 runs. Sarjeevan picked three wickets for Legal Riders.
In reply, Legal Riders failed to face the bowling attack of opponent and was bundled out for just 63 runs. Sarjeevan was the top scorer with 21 runs whereas Rohit scored 18 runs.
For Legal Star XI, Parvesh Salaria and Samiullah shared two wickets each while A.P Singh, Sanjay Sharma and Irfan Khan shared apiece each. Legal Star won the match by a huge margin of 150 runs.
In another semifinal, Paradise XI registered a 63-run win over Royal XI.
Paradise XI, after winning the toss chose to bat first, and scored 189 runs in 15 overs. Sahil Aggarwal played a fine inning of 69 runs followed by Narayan and Guru Partap Singhm who added 47 and 38 runs respectively to the total. For Royal XI, Varun Raina, Rohit Gupta and Vishal Parihar shared one wicket each. Chasing the target, Royal XI managed to score 126 runs. Towkeer was the top scorer with 47 runs whereas Vishal Parihar scored 19 and Aditya Gupta contributed 14 runs. For Paradise XI, Nitin Bhasin grabbed three wickets, Rohan and Ajay Singh Manhas shared two each and Ravi Abrol and Guru Partap Singh took one each.
Earlier in quarterfinal matches, Royal XI trounced Carbeans XI by eight wickets while Paradise XI defeated Dabang XI by seven wickets.
Carbeans XI, batting first, scored 101 runs in 10 overs. Abhimanyu Sharma (36) and Satwant Singh (16) runs were the main scorers. For Royal XI, Varun Raina picked three wickets while Rohit, Aditya and Pankaj shared one each. In reply, Royal XI chased the target comfortable making 104 runs in seven overs for the loss of two wickets. Pankaj Gupta was the top scorer with 30 runs, whereas Aditya Gupta scored 26 runs and Amir Awan made 25. For Caribeans XI, Satwant and Sidharth shared apiece each.
In another quarterfinal, batting first, Dabang XI, made 72 runs in 12 overs for the loss of six wickets. Akshya Koul (26) and Lokesh (10) runs were the top scorers. Rohan and Ravi Abrol bagged two wickets each while Sahil Aggarwal and Ajay Singh Manhas shared one for Paradise XI. Chasing the target, Paradise XI with the help of Guru Partap Singh 45-run chased the target in 10 overs. Sahil Aggarwal added 18 runs to the winning total. Azhar Usman bagged all the three wickets for Dabang XI.
In the football tournament, the first match was played between The Great Warriors and Team “A”, which Team “A” won by 6-0. Surinder Singh scored three brilliant goals while A.P Singh, Sanjay Sharma and Jahanzaib Hamal score one goal each. In another match Strikers XI defeated The Great Warriors by 6-0. Vikash Sharma scored three goals followed by Avish Sharma and Bawa Ditta, who scored two and one goal respectively.
In the final match, Team “A” led by A.P Singh defeated Strikers XI by 5-2.
For the Strikers XI, two goals were scored by Avish Sharma. For Team “A”, Ravinder Kumar scored three goals while Jahanzaib and Surinder scored
one each.
