Land grabbing attempt by minister’s brother foiled, CEO attached

KATHUA: An attempt of grabbing land and making construction thereon by the brother of Forest Minister Lal Singh in Kathua town, was foiled by the Kathua Administration on Monday while the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Municipal Committee (MC) Kathua has been attached to Director Urban Local Bodies Jammu.
According to locals, Rajinder Singh Bubby, former President Municipal Council who is brother of Choudhary Lal Singh Forest Minister has encroached the land at Shaheedi Chowk Kathua and started construction work late in the night on Saturday and erected some pillars. The matter came to the notice of Municipal Council and administration on Sunday when Rajinder Singh Bubby was asked to stop it but he ignored the directions and continued with the construction work.
On Sunday, a decision was taken by the District Development Commissioner, CEO MC Kathua and SSP, and the police team was rushed to the spot to stop the construction work. The team of Municipal Council and the police demolished the construction and removed the illegal encroachment. DDC Kathua Romesh Kumar when contacted said that administration would not allow anyone to take law in their hands.
Meanwhile the CEO MC Kathua Santosh Kotwal on Monday afternoon received orders of his attachment with the Director Urban Local Bodies Jammu.
