JAMMU: Wrestler Lallu of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu lifted the Chamba Dangal title. Dangal was organised by Chamba Dangal Committee in collaboration with J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association at village Chamba in district Reasi.
In the main bout, Lallu defeated Amrit Paul of Amritsar to receive a cash prize of Rs 6,000 from Chief Guest, Deputy Superintendent of Police Katra, Dr Ashok Sharma. Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided.
Assistant Engineer PWD, Bishan Dass and General Secretary District Reasi Indian Style Wrestling Association, Naresh Kesar were Guests of Honour. Sarpanch Rattan Singh and Sarpanch Onkar Singh were among other prominent present.
In all, 34 bouts were decided in this day-long Dangal. The second main bout won by Amir Khan of Nargada of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu, who defeated Basant of Amritsar while Anku of Amritsar claimed the third bout outplaying Zaker of Sarore.
In the fourth bout, Karan of Amritsar trounced Murkeen Ali of Malerkotla in Punjab. The fifth bout went to Arjun of Amritsar, who defeated Jaiseen of Malerkotla while Shallu of Amritsar won the sixth main bout beating Laikat Ali of Jammu.
Members and technical officials who helped for conduct of this wrestling event included Sarpanch Sham Singh (president), Dilawar Singh, Sohan Singh, Ram Chand, Rajinder Singh, Shanker Singh, Naresh Kumar, Murli Dhar (Munna) and Deepak Wazir,
Others results: Sanif Ali of Malerkotla (Punjab) beat Karan of Amritsar, Murad Ali defeated Bittu, Jamat Ali of Nagotra trounced Prashant of Delhi, Dheeraj Singh blanked Laikat Ali, Vicky Sharma downed Sonu, Anil beat Sanif Ali and Prashant of UP blanked Naresh Kumar Billawar.
