JAMMU: President of All J&K Woods Suppliers Union Gulzar Ahmad slammed Forest Minister Lal Singh for refusing to listen to their plight regarding implementation of High Court order dated 27th July 2006 in OWP No. 533/2006 and CMP No.913/06 for abrogating farm culture in State.
Addressing media persons here on Thursday, Gulzar Ahmad said that the deputation of Union under his leadership visited the Forest Minister on Wednesday, to urge him for implementing aforesaid court order in letter and spirit. “Instead of paying heed to the demand, the minister simply downplayed the issue and to everyone’s surprise snubbed the deputation members”, Gulzar said and added that such attitude of forest minister indicated his prejudice towards Gujjar community. Making it clear that such discriminatory attitude shall not be tolerated, Gulzar said that the issue will be taken up with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
During the press conference, Gulzar was flanked by Rash Paul Singh General Secretary Udhampur, Secretary Narotam Dutt District President Udhampur, Abdul Majid Khan and Union State President Bashir Ahmad Malik.
