REASI: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) organised campaign on ‘Layout of Orchards’ at village Judd in Reasi District which was attended by the large number of farmers of the area. The programme was organised under the guidance of Associate Director Extension and Incharge of KVKs of SKUAST-J, Dr.R.K Arora.
The programme was initiated by Dr.Banarsi Lal, Scientist and Head of KVK, Reasi who appraised the farmers that production and productivity of fruit crops like is low in the region and there is ample scope of fruit crops.
He further added that the farmers of the area should divert themselves from subsistence horticulture farming to commercial horticulture farming so that their socio-economic status can be raised and there is dire need to establish the new high tech fruits orchards in the area.
On this occasion many quarries were raised by the farmers which KVK scientists answered in a satisfactorily way.
