KP displaced community holds protest in front of Governor’s House

JAMMU: Jammu Kashmiri Displaced Community from the Kashmir Valley today held a protest in front of Governor’s House.
Led by President BJP Kashmir Displaced District, T.N Bhat, protesters submitted two memorandums to the Governor highlighting various issues being confronted by the displaced community particularly the denial of distribution of ration and enrollment of Kashmiri migrant as voters in the ensuring Panchayat and municipal elections.
The protestors raised slogans against the State administration, bureaucrats, system and relief organisation for their step motherly relief treatment towards Kashmiri Displaced community.
Addressing the rally, T.N Bhat said that the Governor is fully aware of the plight of Kashmiri displaced people who was thrown out of their homes and hearths and were forced to flee from their birth place and are putting up in various camps and other dwellings in Jammu and other parts of India.
He said, “We have a thousand of years of civilisation at our back as a treasure and we celebrate our festivals and auspicious days with fervour, gaiety and devotion to maintain and keep up our civilisation, culture alive but unfortunately, the community was deprived of celebrating the auspicious day with gaiety and fervour by denying them the distribution of ration which is being supplied by Central Government.”
But all intriguing and surprising was that this administration having callous approach took no time in implementing NFSA on Kashmir DPs which is hardly suitable, he said adding that since the inception of displaced the Central Government has been providing cash assistance and ration to the deserving displaced community members for their survival in Jammu and other parts in India.
He requested the Governor to issue necessary orders and instructions to the State administration for distribution of ration to displaced community.
Others who spoke at the rally included Sheela Handoo, A.K. Pandia, Ashok Bhat, Dr. A.K. Kaul, Virender Kuchroo all Mandal Presidents and Unit President.
