KNIT observes ‘World No Tobacco Day’

JAMMU: World No Tobacco Day was observed in Kotwal National Institute of Teaching (KNIT), Bharat Nagar, Talab Tillo here on Tuesday. Staff and students participated in the event. All the participants highlighted the harmful effects of consuming tobacco in any form and advised the students not to indulge in any activity related to tobacco.
Prof. J. L Kotwal, Director KNIT emphasized on the student to be alert in the society so that they don’t get addicted to consumption of tobacco in any form.
He also advised the students to start a campaign for non consumption of tobacco from their homes itself. He said that we should quit tobacco and save environment.
Principal KNIT Bimla Blawria also spoke on the occasion regarding harmful effects of consumption of tobacco and its remedial measures. She exhorted upon the students to avoid drug addiction and be aware of the parasite in the society in search of victims in the institutions and the society.
An oath ceremony and Signature Campaign regarding “World No Tobacco Day” was also held. The program was organized by Sarika Gupta and Jyoti Gupta.
