Kishtwar observes complete Bandh over Kashmir killings

DODA: A peaceful Bandh was observed in Kishtwar District of Jammu province on Wednesday over the killing of people in Kashmir by the security forces.
In the day long Bandh, all the business establishments downed their shutters while the operators of commercial vehicles to kept their vehicles off the roads, till evening whereas all schools remained close in wake of the Bandh call to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir. The Bandh call was given by Shora Committee Kishtwar.
As per reports, very thin attendance was recorded in government offices besides partial Bandh was also observed by people from Hindu community.
Imam of Jamia Masjid Kishtwar lamented the government for killing of innocent civilians in Kashmir.
He appealed not to use bullets on the people of Kashmir and restrain from killing protestors.
The government must redress the grievance of Kashmiri people and stop killings in Valley, said Imam.
Further Imam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar thanked members of Hindu community for obererving Bandh call peacefully. He appealed to members of both the communities to maintain peace and communal harmony in the time of crises.
A Sr Police officer said that the Bandh passed off peacefully wheras there was no report of any untoward incident during the day.
