UDHAMPUR: Apprising the gathering about the various government schemes, District Panchayat Officer Sukriti Sharma on Sunday informed the villagers about their benefits after the implementation of government projects in various sectors.
Addressing the Kisan Sabha, which was organised at Panchayat Thial of Block Khoon in District Udhampur, DPO Sukriti Sharma gave detailed purview of various Rural Development schemes. Large number of women, farmers participated in the Kisan Sabha.
While speaking on the occasion, Chief Medical Officer Chander Prakash, apprised the gathering about schemes of Health Department.
Officers from Department of Horticulture and Agriculture gave detailed information about the welfare schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayi Yojna ,KCC and also apprised the farmers of the benefits of organic farming, apiculture, fruit crops, vermin-composting.
On the occasion, an inter-Panchayat cookery competition with the theme “Khana Khazana…let’s eat together” was also organised in which local vegetable cuisines were the main attractions.
The team from Panchayat Thial was adjudged the winner and will be rewarded in Gram Sabha to be held on 21st April.
All the other teams were rewarded in the Kisan Sabha. Besides, DPO Sukriti Sharma, CMO Chander Prakash others who attended the Sabha include District Officer Horticulture Brijvallabh Gupta, HDO Ramesh Sharma and BDO Amil Khateeb. The proceedings were conducted by Sarpanch Kuldeep Kumar.
