Khelo India Games; Sports Council finalises arrangements

JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council on Monday reviewed and finalised the arrangements for the forthcoming Khelo India Games in Jammu.
A meeting in this regard was held at MA Stadium here. It was chaired by Ranjeet Kalra, Vice Chairman Sports Council of Jammu.
“The games are being organised by the Sports Council of Jammu and Kashmir in various districts of the State under the patronage of Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, who is also the President of the State Sports Council,” Kalra said.
Under the aegis of Union Sports Ministry, Government of India, the games shall be held at the block, district and State levels, he added. The Games in Jammu, he informed, shall be commencing on 26th March in different blocks of District Jammu and culminate on 31st March at MA stadium, here.
The arrangements for organising the games in districts of Rajouri and Poonch were also reviewed in the meeting.
The meeting among others was also attended by Arun Malhotra and Nazir Ahmad Members of the State Sports Council, Haji Abdul Qayoom Chief Sports Officer J and K Sports Council, Ravi Singh Divisional Sports Officer and Iqbal Singh.
