JAMMU: KC Public School students under the aegis of Tony Blair’s Global Generation Programme have been participating in live international video conferences from time to time in order to develop a sense of commitment and responsibility as members of the global community.
On 8th November, they took part in the fourth international video conference lasting two hours. The other two schools were Al Hassad School, Jordan and Bal Bharati Public School, New Delhi. The conference was moderated live by Ian Jamison from London and a woman rabbi Debbie joined the discussion as a special guest.
The theme of discussion was ‘Women’s Rights’.
After a brief introduction, Ian Jamison opened the discussion to the participating schools. Students expressed their views with conviction and confidence and Debbie
interpolated the discussion with her own views and observations on women’s rights in the contemporary world. A number of issues related to women’s right in India and Jordan were discussed in detail. The conference concluded with Ian putting in a word of praise for the students taking part in the conference.
