KC Gurukul Public School celebrates Vijay Diwas

UDHAMPUR: Vijay Diwas was celebrated in KC Gurukul Public School Jakhar, here on Wednesday which has a great importance in the history of J and K.
A function was held in the school’s auditorium which started with a two minutes silence in honour of the departed souls of Kargil war.
All the students of the school along with the teachers, the principal, attended the function. The day marked the 17th Anniversary of the Indian Army’s spectacular victory over Pakistan.
Army which had intruded in the Kargil sector was paid rich tributes by patriotic songs sung by the students. The function also included slogans and speeches by the students and the Principal Sagar Banerjee.
In his speech, the Principal highlighted the incident that occurred in the year 1999.
He told the students that in the Kargil war 527 brave soldiers had scarified their lives for the sake of their motherland. He motivated the students that they should also prepare themselves to serve the country by joining Indian Army.
