KATHUA: A meeting of the office-bearers of the District Volleyball Association Kathua was held on Sunday at Bhagwan Shree Parshuram Dham in Gurah Mundian, Tehsil Hiranagar, under the presidency of Kamal Sharma.
The gathering was attended by all the officers of the district body, who came together to discuss important matters concerning the association and the promotion of volleyball in the region.
At the beginning of the meeting, attendees paid heartfelt tributes to the late Bishan Dass, a Sub-Inspector of JKP and a talented volleyball player who had represented Jammu and Kashmir in national competitions.
During the meeting, it was decided to organize the District Kathua Volleyball Championship 2024 for both boys and girls. The event is scheduled to take place on the 23rd and 24th of November 2024 at the Higher Secondary School in village Dhanni Bakhta (Forlain).
Mohinder Sharma, the General Secretary of the District Volleyball Association Kathua, was tasked with issuing formal invitations to all registered volleyball clubs in the district. He will also coordinate arrangements for the championship in collaboration with Chuni Lal, President of the Dhanni Bakhta Volleyball Club, ensuring a successful event that will showcase the talent and enthusiasm of local players.
