KATHUA: District Kathua Chess Championship organised by Kathua District Chess Association under the banner of All J and K Chess Association, concluded on Sunday at Government High School, Parliwand, here.
Suksham Sharma was declared overall winner while Harinandan and Mohan Lal Sharma remained second and third respectively. Similarly, in girls section, Ridhima Gupta emerged winner while Arman and Naman were declared best young players of the tournament.
In all, 25 young boys and girls took part in this competition. Chairman of the Association, Kuljeet Singh Jamwal was Chief Guest, who gave away the prizes and participation certificates.
Now, selected players out of this competition shall take part in the upcoming State championship.
This tournament was held under the guidance of Secretary Kathua District Chess Association, Ravi Sharma.
