Kathua artists to participate in National Youth Fest

KATHUA: Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India, Govt. of Assam and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, is organising National Youth Festival at Guwahati (Assam) from 8th to 12th January 2014, in which thousands of youth hailing from all 30 states and Union Territories are participating in various competitive and non competitive events being held during the festival.
In Yuva Kriti, an Exhibition at the 19th Youth Festival, Guwhati (Assam) Sukhdeep Singh, Young Artist from Village Rehan, Basohli shall represent Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, J and K and shall exhibit the world famous Basohli Art Paintings and Rakesh Kumar shall exhibit Basohli Pashmina Shawls. It would be a great opportunity to display to popularise the traditional Basohli Art Paintings and Pashmina products at national level platform.
In Young Artist Camp, Svatanter Bhart shall participate in Sculptor ( Wood / Clay) competition and Pankaj Kumar shall participate in Painting Competitions in Basohli Art Paintings from Kathua District.
First time four young artists from Kathua District are participating in two competitive and one non-competitive event in National Youth Festival and shall highlights inherit art and craft of Kathua District at national platform.
