JAMMU: To discuss DDC elections and its implication for future of J&K, a meeting of Kashmiri Pandit Sabha (KPS), Amphalla was held on Wednesday under leadership of its President K K Khosa.
KPS members hailed successful completion of DDC elections especially in view of the fact that they have been largely peaceful and free of violence which till date has always been scourge of almost every election held in the valley. The Sabha complimented UT government under the leadership of LG Manoj Sinha and security forces for the successful completion of this marathon exercise especially in aftermath of constitutional amendments made in August 5, 2019. The DDC election results have clearly shown that people of J&K have voted heavily in favour of development agenda of PM Modi and also in favour of the constitutional amendments that were made on August 5, 2019.
Khosa appealed to the LG and GOI to give serious thought to initiate a dialogue process with displaced Kashmiri Pandits to formulate a viable return policy whereby community is able to return and get resettled in Kashmir with dignity honour and a complete sense of security.
He also requested for enhancing monthly cash relief in favour of KP migrants from Rs 13,000, so that displaced community members are able to make both ends meet especially due to increased cost of living in these COVID-19 times.
