JAMMU: General Secretary All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) Prof Kali Dass on Wednesday said that the way in which Kashmiri leadership has in one voice opposed the settlement of West Pak refugees as well as government formation in alliance with BJP has exposed its sectarian thought and indifference towards non Kashmiri populace residing in Jammu and Kashmir. He strongly condemned the neglect of others by the Kashmir based parties on the pretext of ‘Kashmiriyat’.
He was responding to reactions made by Kashmiri leadership especially Mohammad Akbar Lone (NC) and others on settlement of West Pak refugees and latest political developments in J and K that have crippled the hopes of people to see their representatives steering the State government.
Kali Dass lambasted Lone for opposing the move to settle West Pak refugees. He also castigated PDP, Congress and NC for ignoring the rights of Kashmir’s OBCs and SCs by denying 27 per cent reservation to these communities since 1992.
President AIBCU Abdul Majid Malik, Sandokh Chand, Rajinder Singh and Principal Darshan Lal also addressed the meeting.
