JAMMU: Referring to the statement of former Chief Minister of the State and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad that the lava has been created in past time which has burst now, State VHP President Leela Karan Sharma said Azad is right to some extent as the seeds of separatism were sown at the time when Constitution was made by incorporating certain temporary provisions in Constitution of India to give special status to the State to please a few leaders of the Valley.
Forgetting that the State of J and K comprises of three regions Jammu, Ladakh and Kashmir but importance was always given to one region thereby creating a discontent between other regions, he said.
Pak, he added, also waged three wars against India but failed in it and started proxy war in late 80s by poisoning, funding and instigating youth of Kashmir and pampering the separatist leaders of Kashmir which resulted into the migration of lakhs of Kashmiri Pandits from Valley.
In 1994, he said, the Parliament passed a unanimous resolution that J and K is an integral part of India and only dispute is with regard to Pak occupied area of J and K.
“It is unfortunate that every party ruling the State or in the Centre only gave a lip service and now the cause has become an ulcer which requires a major surgery,” he said.
In the light of Pak declaration to observe black day on 19th July 2016 in protest against the killing of dreaded militant Burhan Wani and declaring him a martyr, State VHP requested all the Parliamentarians to rise above the party line and think to make a united effort to remove separatist and special provision from the Constitution of India which gives feeling of separatism. Instead of giving lip service and passing resolution the Constitution should be amended to remove all these irritating provisions so that a clear signal may go to militants and separatists that J and K is an integral part of India and people realise that they are citizens of India and owe duty to the country which will also be a befitting reply to Pak not to interfere in our internal affairs, he said.
Shakti Dutt Sharma State Secretary VHP and others were also present.
