Kashmir IGP reviews law & order situation
SRINAGAR: With apprehension about spurt in infiltration attempts after the opening of snow-bound passes along the LoC, a senior police officer on Friday reviewed the law and order situation and directed for strengthening of the security apparatus.
Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, S.J.M Gillani held a series of meetings during a tour of Bandipora and Baramulla districts of north Kashmir and also asked the officers to brief the deployments on the ground to exercise maximum restraint while dealing with any law and order situation.
“The security apparatus should be tightened to deal with militancy related incidents,” the IGP said while chairing the meetings at Bandipora, Sopore and Baramulla.
He also emphasised upon all officers to work with dedication and commitment to come up to the expectations of the people by providing them better services of policing.
Gillani also stressed upon the field officers to take steps to tackle crime in the districts and directed for speedy and transparent investigations.
The IGP also chaired ‘Darbars’ of all ranks of Baramulla and Sopore and gave patient hearing to the grievances and problems of the personnel, assuring necessary action in mitigating their problems.
Last week, the IGP visited Kupwara district of north Kashmir and reviewed the law and order situation there.
