JAMMU: Karva Chauth is a one-day festival celebrated by women in India in which married women fast from before sunrise to moonrise for the safety and longevity of their husbands lives. Women begin preparing for the special day by buying cosmetics, traditional jewelry, and Puja items, such as the Karwa lamps, Matthi, decorated Puja Thali and Mehndi.
For the first time in history of Radio Industry, listeners of 92.7 BIG FM Jammu will get to listen to the Karva Chauth Vrat Katha on radio on 11th October, 3:30 PM onwards! To make this Karva Chauth even bigger for its listeners, 92.7 BIG FM celebrated ‘Mehandi Hai Rachne Wali’ with free mehandi camp at Jawed Habib Hair and Beauty Salon, Gandhi Nagar.
Some lucky ladies who were shortlisted after registration got a chance to be a part of this camp where their hands were decorated with Mehndi.
BIG FM RJs- RJ Juhie, RJ Manas and RJ Sarang- played exciting games and contests with them like Tambola, Best dress up, Best hair do to name a few. Ladies were treated with free Mehndi and free make-over to look more beautiful on their special day along with many other exciting prizes.
One of the excited winners, Shivani expressed her heartfelt thanks to the team BIG FM in a such words, “BIG FM also makes our festivities more exciting. I personally keep looking forward to celebrating my festivals with the BIG FM team. It is not just the prizes that we win but the warmth and enthusiasm that we feel after meeting them. I wish I celebrate all my special occasions with them in future also”.
Another lucky winner, Minakshi from Bhatindi, also shared the same feelings, “ my festivals are incomplete if I do not get to celebrate them with BIG FM. I keep on sending the messages to register in various events till I do not receive a call from them. It has become like a family to me and I want to thank them from the core of my heart”.
