Kargil Vijay Diwas: DC Jammu unveils JSCL’s mural art dedicated to war heroes

JAMMU: On the occasion of 23rd Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jammu, Avny Lavasa on Tuesday unveiled a mural art made by Jammu Smart City Limited (JSCL) to commemorate the victory and to honour the martyrs of the 1999 Kargil war.
Additional CEO, JSCL Hitesh Gupta, project director Sunil Thusoo and other officials of JSCL as well as prominent citizen were present on the occasion.
A group of enthusiastic youth also presented a dance on patrortic song to mark 23rd Kargil Vijay Diwas.
Each year, Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated on July 26 to honour the valour and sacrifice of the soldiers who laid down their lives in the line of duty during the Kargil War.
Paying glowing tributes to the war heroes, Deputy Commissioner Avny Lavasa lauds the initiative of Jammu Smart City Limited for mural art to honour the Kargil war heroes.
“I am sure that this mural art will educate the people of Jammu about the highest values of the Indian Army and inspire them,” she said.
Additional CEO, JSCl , Hitesh Gupta also pay tributes to brave hearts of Kargil war. “Nation will remain grateful to them and their bravery motivates everyone,” he added.
As many as 527 soldiers laid down their lives while over 1300 sustained injuries during Operation VIJAY as the Indian Army repulsed an attack by Pakistani Army in Kargil sector in 1999.
