Kargil Martyrs Cricket Tournament 2016 Kargil XI defeats CEC XI by 5 wickets in friendly match

SHOTOPA: Kargil XI won the friendly match on the opening day of Kargil Martyrs Cricket Tournament 2016, declared open by the Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC Kargil Haji Hanifa Jan at Khree Sultan Choo Sport Stadium Biamathang, here on Sunday.
In the friendly match, Kargil XI outplayed CEC XI by five wickets.
The team of CEC XI was led by the CEC Haji Hanifa Jan and Kargil XI was led by Haji Zakir Khaloo.
Batting first, CEC XI scored 143 runs in 20 overs with the help of 58 runs of SP Kargil Rahul Malik which in reply was chased by Kargil XI in 17 overs for the loss of five wickets.
The tournament being organised to pay homage and remember the sacrifice of the Heroes of Kargil War by SAHRA Society Kargil in collaboration with S TV Ladakh.
Around 80 teams from all over Kargil are going to participate in this tournament.
The league matches of the tournament will start from tomorrow. (PTI)
