JAMMU: The people of Jammu West under the leadership of Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) President Sunil Dimple held a protest against the unscheduled power cuts and scarcity of water in Jammu. The people holding empty buckets, utensils in their hands raised slogans against PDD and PHE ministries.
Addressing the gathering, Sunil Dimple alleged that there is total failure of the PDD and PHE ministries adding there is 12 to 15 hours power cut daily in the scorching 43 degree temperature that too with very low voltage. Dimple demanded to install fresh new receiving station of 50 MVA at Janipur to overcome the load problem and the curtailment of power.
Dimple said that refusal of the PDD Ministry to return the power projects to the State as per the Agenda of Alliance and also refusal to increase the power share to the J and K State from 12 to 25 per cent as per the agenda of BJP-PDP alliance has been proved a hoax. Dimple appealed to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to break her PDP party’s alliance with BJP as the Centre has straightway refused to return the power projects to the State as per BJP-PDP Agenda of Alliance.
Dimple also appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to return the power projects to the State and scrap Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan in the interest of Jammu and Kashmir State. Meanwhile, Dimple threatened to start Jan Andolan, if the power and water supply is not improved till May 26.
