JAMMU: A large number of residents from Jammu West held a protest rally on the Amphalla- New Plot Road against failure of Mehbooba Mufti led BJP-PDP State Government to solve the traffic problem in Jammu city.
Addressing protesters Sunil Dimple President, Jammu West Assembly Movement, demanded from the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to start the construction work of flyovers at Rehari Chungi, Jewel Chowk and the widening of the BC road.
He also demanded construction of alternative four way circular road from Amphalla Manda to High Court Janipur to Roop Nagar to Bantalab, Jewal Chowk to Talab Tillo via Bhagwati Nagar and widening of Jewel Chowk to Purkhu Akhnoor road to ease traffic movement in Jammu city particularly on the Janipur Road. He also demanded starting of Metro Rail, Mono Rail connecting the Jammu city with adjoining towns like Samba, Bari Brahmna, RS Pura, Akhnoor, Nagrota and other towns.
Dimple alleged large scale bungling in black topping in the Jammu city. He said local MLAs are hand in glove with PWD (R&B), JMC engineers and are involved in taking commissions from engineers. He demanded CBI inquiry in to allotment of funds to ERA and PWD(R&B).
The prominent leaders who joined the protest were Sham Saroop Gupta, Manjiet Kumar Anand, Shiv Kumar, Mohan Lal, P C Kapoor, Rajinder Sharma, Sat Pal Kohli, Harbans Tondon, Som Nath Sharma, Sachin, Ajay Kumar, Manohar Singh, S Gurmeet Singh, Sat Pal, Sanjay Kumar, Vijay Sharma and many others.
